Rosana Lemut Strle, M.A., studied at Faculty of law in Ljubljana where she graduated in 1995 with the thesis “Beveridge’s system of social security” under mentorship of Prof. Dr. Anjuta Bubnov Škoberne. In 2002, she passed the national bar exam, and finished her post-graduate studies at Faculty of Law in Ljubljana in 2008 – her thesis was “Personal Data Processing at the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia” under mentorship of prof. dr. Mitja Horvat.
She finished her apprenticeship at Administrative unit Litija, continued her career at Municipality Litija and later at the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia as a director of obligatory national health insurance section.
She joined the Information Commissioner in april 2009. She was Deputy Infirmation Commissioner in charge of personal data protection until December 2014. In January 2015 she became an attorney candidate at Law Firm Pirc Musar, in February 2016 she took an oath as attorney at law at the Slovenian Bar Assotiation and in March 2016 she became a partner in the firm.
From 1 January 2023, she continues working as an independent lawyer. In October 2022, the Bar Association of Slovenia recognized her as a specialist lawyer in the field of administrative law, the field of personal data protection law and access to public information. She is the co-author of the commentary on the Act on Access to Public Information and the commentary on the General Data Protection Regulation. She also works as an expert of the Council of Europe and other international associations and as a lecturer in both of these fields. In 2018, she also obtained a certificate from the International Organization of Privacy Professionals (IAPP); European Privacy Professional Certificate (CIPP/E) and Privacy Manager Certificate (CIPP/M).
