M.A. Gordana Ristin is a senior judge at the High Court in Ljubljana. She heads the Department for ADR (alternative dispute resolution). She is the president of the Association of Mediators of Slovenia.
She started her real career at Zavarovalnca Triglav and then became a judge (at the Basic Court in Ljubljana, assigned to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Slovenia and from 1995 to the High Court in Ljubljana). She has been a mediator since 2001, completed several continuing education courses and became a trainer for mediators in 2003. She is the author of numerous articles on ARS and the editor and co-author of the book Mediation in Theory and Practice. She was the professional leader of the European EMNI conference on mediation, the professional leader of trainings at DMS and lectured at the ABA ADR Conference in San Francisco and Miami. She is a member of the Council for ARS at the Ministry of Justice. In 2017, she obtained her master’s degree at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana with the topic: Mediation in compensation and insurance disputes. Lecture at the first master’s course in the Republic of Slovenia on ARS at the Faculty of European Law. She is a member of the ARS Council at the Ministry of Justice. She has done over 200 mediations.
